The projects are conducted
in general practices and their communities to
help support individuals who are anxious and
depressed. As part of this support counsellers
that are employed may be utilised if individuals
require them.
|
|
The resident population of
Banbridge can access the service via their general
practitioner. Patients registered can be referred
to the project manager through their general
practitioner (provided they are registered in
Banbridge Group Surgery, Dromore Doctors Surgery
or Crossmaglen Surgery)
|
|
Referrals are made to the
manager who will act as the initial contact
point and signpost the client to appropriate
information, support or services.
|
|
The project works with a range
of local counselling organisations and also
directly employs professional counsellers with
expertise in a variety of specialities. Individuals
can be directed to the service that best meets
their needs. The counselling services are free
of charge for the first six sessions but additional
sessions can be availed of at a cost of £35
per hour. This is optional but if patients wish
to pay for all sessions this would greatly benefit
our organisation.
